Before I arrived in Nice, I was prepared for the University System to be unorganised and a complete nightmare to sort out the enrolment and module choices. Well, it was. Luckily, other students from Nottingham had already spent a semester there and were complete life saviours in helping us out. Similar to when I was in Spain, you are left to make your own timetable, and to make up the appropriate credits. There are no modules purely for Erasmus students like there were in Spain, so I mainly chose to do translation modules english-french and french-english- these are good classes, and the teachers are fairly relaxed towards Erasmus students. I also had to take some spanish classes, so did two translation ones (these are challenging as they are spanish-french and french-spanish!) and an oral class, which was fun and I really enjoyed. If you would like to know the exact modules and codes of what I took, then feel free to ask for them. I think it took me nearly a month to settle on what classes I was definitely taking, but got there in the end, and after all, the french do everything slowly so it wasn't a problem!
Getting to University is straightforward- unless you live on campus, you catch the number 22 from the centre of Nice (Rue Hotel de Postes) and it takes you right to the Uni entrance (Fac de Lettres bus stop.) Of course if you live anywhere between the centre and the Uni then the 22 goes from all the stops in between and is very frequent. From the centre it takes approx 20 minutes.
Fac de Lettres Campus is not one of the nicest looking of the bunch, but when you can see the sea from your classes, things could be worse!
Here are a couple of pictures :)
